On May 31, 2024, after intense competition among 35 welders at Suzhou Oxygen Plant Co., Ltd.’s welding skills competition, and following comprehensive evaluation of theoretical examinations, weld appearance, and non-destructive testing results for each welder, the final results were announced: In the stainless steel pipe TIG welding group, Zhou Qingwei took first place; Lu Zhenhua and Lin Xiaolei tied for second place; Shen Cha, Liu Bin, and Wu Zhong tied for third place. In the aluminum pipe TIG welding group, Lu Xiaogang took first place; Ma Jifu and Hua Fuyong tied for second place; Zhu Yonghua, Li Yongjie, and Cao Wei tied for third place.
The competition was organized by the company’s administration and labor union, aiming to create a positive atmosphere of competition, learning, and pursuit of excellence within the company, and to motivate welders to improve their technical skills. The event also provided a platform for self-demonstration, identifying areas for improvement, and mutual learning, thereby enhancing the overall skill level of the company’s welders, advancing product welding quality and efficiency, and strengthening the company’s competitive capabilities.
Company leadership stated that welding skills competitions will be held annually in the future to discover and cultivate outstanding welding talent for the company, strengthen targeted skills training, and discuss and improve welding processes. The goal is to create first-class pressure vessel products with first-class welding skills, continuously ensuring customer satisfaction with both the appearance and internal quality of the company’s welding, thus supporting the implementation of the company’s global business strategy.
