The company was established in May 1971 (originally named Wuxian Oxygen Machine Factory), formally renamed to Suzhou Oxygen Machine Factory in April 1990, restructured to establish Suzhou Oxygen Machine Co., Ltd. in May 1997, and underwent complete corporate restructuring in 2002 to form Suzhou Oxygen Machine Co., Ltd. with a modern enterprise system including shareholders’ meetings, board of directors, and board of supervisors. In 2016, the company completed its transformation to a joint-stock system and was officially renamed Suzhou Oxygen Plant Co., Ltd.
